Virtues of Disequilibrium was exhibited at the Queens Museum, New York in July 2015. It recreates a childhood scenario when I was locked inside a room with my four teenage sisters. They were pretending to be housewives, performing different domestic duties, while waiting for their imaginary lovers to arrive home. My role was to be their shared child which was instructed simultaneously to perform different tasks, navigating between punishment and reward.
Once the imaginary men arrived, my sisters occupied different corners of the room, kissing and humping walls, pillows and furniture. I then became the delighted viewer.
